Maha Kumbh Mela is held at Ujjain once in every 12 years when the zodiac sign Scorpio (Vrishchik Rashi) indicates the presence of Jupiter and Sun. The city is situated on the banks of the river Shipra, regarded since times immemorial as sacred. Ujjain is one of the holiest and oldest cities of India and was an important place, during the reign of Ashoka, in spreading Buddhism. Famous for its Jyotirlinga shrine at Onkareshwar, it is one of the seven sacred cities of India. The main event during Maha Kumbh festival is the bathing dates, millions of pilgrimages take bath on the bank of the holy river. DAY 1: Nashik On arrival at Nashik Airport / Railway station. Our representative will meet and greet you. Transfer to Hotel/Tent. Upon check in refresh and relax. Nashik one of the most holy cities of Maharashtra state and located on the bank of the Godavari. Later proceed to visit Trimbakeshwar Temple 40 kms from Nashik – one of the 12 Jyotirlinga temple of lord shiva. Return to Nashik for Dinner . Overnight stay will be Luxury Tent / Hotel - Nashik DAY 2: Nashik (Participation in Kumbha with Sahi Snan / Holy Bath) Mornin to visit Kumbh Festival. Nashik is the venue where the next Kumbh Mela 2015 will be held at the banks of river Godavari. Kumbh mela in Nashik happens after a period of 12 years. Around 10 million (1 crore) pilgrims are expected to arrive in and take holy bath in the river Godavari to cleanse their body and soulsThere are certain bathing dates.
